This has to be one of if not the best roads I have riden along. If you are out for a burn up and getting your knee down and wanting to wind the throttle open then this is not the road for you, go fimd a motorway somewhere. The road is for touring and making the most of being at one with your motorcycle and the surroundings. With the sun shining I think there a few roads in Britain to beat this one. If you haven´t done this run, then why not, you really are missing out.

OH BOY. RIDE THIS ROAD! Its not the most technical or exciting, but its still great fun to ride and the scenery - absolutely stunning. A fantastic, relaxing ride!

Just watch out for the occasional kamikaze sheep (and accompanying sheep shit :-) )

No sound is here save the stream that shrills and now and then a cry of faint wailing when the Kite comes sailing over the crags- William Lisle Bowles, ˜Coombe-Ellen 1798 Fantastic weather and good company - What more could a biker ask for? More roads like these maybe? I live in hope. This is the Elan Valley in the very heart of Wales Land Of My Fathers. This 25 mile route is from the Elan Valley Visitor Centre just South West of Rhayader to Devils Bridge which is also worth a visit and is a popular stop for bikers and their contented pillions. Leave Elan visitor centre after a rather tasty sausage sandwich and follow the signs for "Aberystwyth via mountain road". You take in the Claerwen, Caban Coch, Garreg Ddu, Penygarreg, and Craig Goch Resevoirs - which are all quite impressive 19th century works of engineering - on your way along a winding twisting tarmac ribbon of excitement. This road will have your senses reeling and wondering in disbelief as to why anyone would build a road through such a place. Maybe the disused quarries are a clue to this step back in time. It's a great scenic route and one of my favourite places in Wales. It makes me proud to be Welsh and proud to be a biker 'there is no other way to enjoy it other than with two wheels and a few mates. Not a fast route but very scenic. Enjoy the snaps.
