N623 : Santander - Burgos (Riding with General Custer and the Red Injuns)

Asturias/Cantabria > Spain > Europe
January 17, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.4
A really good selection of tight hairpins, fast sweepers and a nice view as the road rises up from sea level to around 1000m. As this is rural Spain, you may need to pay some attention to farm animals straying into the road (although I didn't see any on the way). This route is ideal if you've just got off the ferry from Santander.

530 Lugo - A Fonsagrada

Asturias/Cantabria > Spain > Europe
June 22, 2007 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0
Kindly rebuilt and resurfaced, for 70% of length,by the EEC in 2007 its like Brands Hatch. Pleasent scenery adds to the ride which climbs from Lugo into the mountains and finnishes at Fonsagrada ( fuel available ) where Spanish bikers stop for lunch. Very fast with mainly long bends.

N339 / Glacia Mountain : Covilha - Seia

Central Portugal > Portugal > Europe
June 22, 2007 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.7
This road is popular with Portugal local bikers and has some spectacular viewpoints. It passes through a ski resort area, a shock for Portugal, after rising from the town to a flattish mountain top at 2000 metres. There is an interesting diversion to the right, signposted Manteigas or Valley of the Glacier, which after a mile or so gets to the head of a perfectly formed Glacier Valley.Back on the main route there are some good bends and you can finnish in the village of Seia where you can find a number of good restaurants.

N103 : Braga - Bragan├ža

Northern Portugal > Portugal > Europe
February 23, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.5
Route 103 in Northern Portugal runs from Braga in the West to Braganca in the East. About 200 kilometres of absolutely stunning mountain road. Traffic is generally light and the road surface, by and large, is excellent. Chaves, about half way, makes a nice stop off point and the opportunity to refuel self and bike. The western section is largely fast, open sweepers, the eastern has a lot more tight and twisty stuff. Ride it, you'll love it!

534 Folgoso - Lalin

Galicia > Spain > Europe
February 26, 2007 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.0
This has been resurfaced by EU with some good fast flowing bends as the road rises to a summit and then drops down towards Lalin. Some good long distance views with usual Wind Farm providing a diversion.
