This is one of the best biking roads in Scotland. It can be done clockwise or Anticlockwise and is totally different each way. Personally, I prefer clockwise from Kylakin, head north on the A87, stop at Broadford for fuel, nice shop with gifts and snacks about 10miles north there is a little roadside tea room called "The Piper's Moon at Luib", run by a biker and his wife. North to Ligachan then Portree, go down the hill to the nice little harbour, fish and chips and seafood. Head north out of Portree on the A855. This is a section of single track road which lasts for about 6 miles. The views across to the islands of Raasay and Rona and Applecross and Torridon on the mainland are spectacular. About 2 miles before Staffin turn off to the right at the Kilt Rock viewpoint. At Staffin you are back on single track and there's a choice of going right around the top of Skye or cutting across the mountain road the Quiraing to Uig. From Uig head south on the A87 to Carbost and take the A850 west to Dunvegan. Dunvegan Castle is worth visiting. From Dunvegan, head south on te A863 to Sligachan for 23 miles of the best biking road you will find on the right day.On a clear sunny day the view over the handlebars of the Cullin hills as you swoop your way south is fantastic. When you Sligachan you join the A87 and head south back to Kylakin.

A must ride route for any trek North. So good you have to do it three times a session. Need to be fully focused but rewards smooth riding.

Arguably Britain's bike biking road. The Isle of Skye offers simply wonderful scenary and is easily accessible by road bridge. Wonderful selection of bends and changes in elevation that is only spoiled by a less than perfect (or consistent) road surface. Highly Recommended.
