I lived in Dalton for a while 2006/7. This is a great road which give a pure adrenalin injection.I can tell you from my house you could hear some real flyers coming for miles. Its better than watching tv listening to the bikes. In my opinion you will not be dissapointed.
Travelling to/ from the ferry? Bored on the A75? Heres a nice detour to make u smile. After Annan, take a right and follow the signs to Dalton. Pretty much every road leads there! Go through and out of the village and youve two options - straight on through Lochmaben (then back to Dumfries on the A709) or take a left and go up over the hill back to the A75. Either way you get some great sprints, wicked bends and a great distraction that only adds 20 minutes or so to your journey.
