23 to back of dragon to
Scenic route through Sweetwater and Arcadia. Older textured asphalt with animals and random farm dirt in roads at times. Render due caution.
Tahoe turnaround
This is the best road in Missouri for spirited riding or driving. This is a higher speed road section than tail of the Dragon. Not a lot of driveways or intersections. There is a dead man's curve heading south, a blind decreasing radius curve with a soft ditch full of leaves and car plastic bits. Most people avoid this section due to it's white knuckle nature of blind corners and mega elevation changes (the straightest section). 20 MPH corners and in the straight I bet you can accomplish red out. Stop a in Potosi for a sandwich and head straight back the way you came. There will be a motorcycle resort one day in this area, I just hope I am a partner when word get's out about the very best road in Missouri.
The last leg of the Lake Charles HOG ride to Prejean's.
Easy ride with mixed country and city
Leaving the San Juan Trading Post, after a Navajo Breakfast and as much coffe as I could drink, we headed N on the UT163, passing the eponymous "Mexican Hat" on our Right.
Just by way of signage, the UT163, and later the UT191 for part of "The Trail of the Ancients National Scenic Byway"
Taking the first real Left we headed NW on the UT261, taking a further left on the UT316 to the Goosenecks overlook - its a few km.
Photographs taken, we headed back to the UT261, and turning left carried on NW. Careful here as there may be some cattle on the road. As the sign says, "Open Range".
My Intention was to head up the Moki Dugway, carrying on to Natural Bridges Nat. Mon.. Having arrived there the road surface was really loose and badly rutted, with a lot axle tramp ruts everywhere, and I decided it was not suitable for my 750kg fully laden, two-up Electra glide which is definitely not dual sport, so instead we headed to the East, clearly signposted "Valley of The Gods".
[If you run out of tarmac on the UT261 after the first hairpin on the Dugway, you've missed the turn by about 800 yards]
The surface is mostly graded gravel, although there are washes where the sand can be loose and a more than a few inches deep. Take care and everything will be fine.
The road takes you through some magnificent rock formations, drifts, hoodoos, spires and if you stop, and listen. You will hear absolutely begger all, apart from the tinkling of your bike as it cools. Eerie Silence.
Hoped to see a road-runner, or even a coyote, maybe riding an Acme Rocket, but no such luck. Saw one car on the whole journey!
On the Harley we had a bit of a struggle through some of the deeper sand in the washes, but it was ok, and didn't need to dab or paddle to keep going. Should be a fantastic ride on a more dirt-capable motorcycle.
Upon reaching the UT 163 we took a Left heading NE and stopping for Coffee at the Sinclair Services at Bluff, before heading N on UT191 for Blanding, Monticello and eventually Moab for the night.
Hazard Notes:
Hazard: Valley of the Gods road is loose gravel and sand. If you're on a big heavy roadster its going to be hard work: be prepared.
Hazard: Its a free Range: there may be cattle on the road.
Hazard: There may be deep sand in the washes.
Hazard: There is no water between Mexican Hat and either Bluff or the Ranger station at Natural Bridges if you stay on the Dugway.
Hazard: In summer its V hot.
Hazard: if you walk from the road in VotG, there may be wriggly and/or crawly animals.
Hazard: Road may become impassable very quickly following heavy rains on the nearby mountains.
The superslap portions of the route are what they are, but the mountain roads portion of this route is fantastic.
Two major sections of mountains and twisties.
Beautiful scenery in the mountains.
NOT good to go any later in the winter season than about November as roads up at 5000 feet elevation will ice up and snow, but other times of the year, it's a long but great ride to a desert resort area.
I rode up on the motorbike. It was foggy and wet in the morning. Great scenery, lots of twisties, and through a waterfall. As the guidebook says, 'Stay alert and you probably won't die'. A good day's ride from La Paz and return.
A great new road. 4 lanes twisting through the sanddunes at Mollendo, then 2 wide lanes to Camana. Very well constructed. Good onya Peru.
The road condition is like Trinity rd. But it it does get a lot better about 3/4 of mile in. It's definitely worth doing especially if you came up Trinity rd. this far.
Valrico to Yalaha
Very fun, depending on the time of day traffic can be a little annoying. If you ride slow then traffic won't be an issue. If you ride fast there are plenty of places to cut into oncoming traffic quickly and safely to get around.
Agritopia - Hunt Highway - Florence - AJ
Beautiful rural riding and excellent contrast of scenery from red rock canyons to beautiful sand dunes, to alpine forest and finally the North Rim of a Grand Canyon.
Amazing road with lots of great twisties. The seven mile stretch spanning the state line with West Virginia rivals the "Tail of the Dragon" for twisties. The road condition is mostly excellent.
Nice loop with decent corners. About a 3 hour loop. Plenty of other curvy roads to explore off of this route.
Great mix of terrain. Tight twisties with straights on Hwy One. Watch out for bark, branches, and fallen rock from the hill side.
An excellent long day ride. A must ride, especially in the fall.
Loop from Wyoming, Michigan down country roads into the northern part of Indiana, then west and back up to Michigan via the lake shore. Mostly rural.

Nice 70+ Mile route. Lots of elevation changes
Not too far from Fredericton.
Beautiful route, its all curves and hills. In fall it's amazing.
As of summer 2018, the pavement is good, theres a fair amount of bumps though, not sure how heavy cruiser would behave.
Be aware, this is about 80km no fuel or village along the road and be alert for animals on the road.
If you know this road an know viewpoint along or accessible from one of the many crossing logging road please share.
I believe one of the best route around Fredericton.
Beautiful view of the St-john river all along and the route serpentine with the river. There alot of place to stop/view along as the route goes through many villages.
If you're riding through NB, the 105 route is parallel to the transcanadian highway but it will be slower.
